ABSTRACT
The aim of this study is to determine the relation between parathormone (PTH) level and Bone Mineral Density (BMD) in cases laving or not having diabetic nephropathy (microalbuminuria) related to Type 2 DM. 52 cases with Type 2 DM were included in this study. 17 of the cases were male and 35 were female. The mean age were M 48,21 - F 55,54. The BMD (DEXA Method) and blood PTH are observed and those parameters are compared for Type 2 diabetic cases with or without microalbuminuria. For all cases, PTH levels were measured while the patients are hungry. T and Z scores, BMD levels (gr/cm²) for lumbar were femoral zone were measured. Jargue-Bera, Kendall’s Tau-b and Kruscal-Wallis tests were used for statistical analysis. As a result, it was found that there is not a statistically significant difference with regard to bone mineral density and blood PTH levels between.
