ABSTRACT

Objective:

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of contemporary managerial philosophy on productivity with view point of doctors in hospitals.

Material and Methods:

Improving productivity in hospitals in the study; the attitude of management, modern management techniques, time management, financing of health care, waste management, information systems and patient satisfaction is limited to the size. Research data, researches about efficiency in hospitals reference and taking into account the current situation of the Turkish healthcare system hospitals created a survey form about efficiency.

Results:

The findings of the research indicate that the use of advanced technology, time management, the employment of well-qualified staff, democratic managerial philosophy and effective cost management have high effect on improvement of productivity. But patient satisfaction and the quality of service are found to have low effect on improving of productivity.

Conclusion:

When attitudes of doctors concerning improvement of productivity generally are taken into consideration; it can be stated that they both favour and do not favour the implementation of contemporary managerial philosophy.
