Chondrosarcomas of the larynx are rare tumors accounting for about 1% of all laryngeal primary tumors and they are usually located at the cricoid cartilage. Surgery is first choice treatment for these neoplasm and can be either partial or a total laryngectomy, depending on the extension and histological grade of the tumor. Chondrosarcoma of the larynx generally has a good prognosis. In this report, a laryngeal chondrosarcoma case is presented which was treated surgically with a total laryngectomy. The diagnosis and treatment is discussed in the light of the literature.
