ABSTRACT

Infratemporal fossa is an area where important anatomic structures exist and access to this area is challenging. This area is usually exposed to tumor invasions from surrounding tissues. However, benign or malignant primary tumors may rarely originate from this area. As the result of growing in an expansile manner, tumors are often diagnosed at advanced stages and radiological imaging techniques are very valuable in determining surgical approach.

This study reports 69-year old male patient who admitted our department with facial fullness and deformation. The tumor was excised by Caldwell-Luc and trans-zygomatic approach. The boundaries of this region, surgical approaches and the tumors were discussed in the light of the literature.
