ABSTRACT

Actinomycosis is caused by actinomyces israelii, a commensal bacteria harboring human oral cavity usually around teeth. Actinomycosis of the paranasal sinuses is very rare and very difficult to diagnose. In our article, we report a case of an isolated actinomyces in maxillary sinus which was completely cured after endoscopic sinus surgery and short term antibiotic therapy. Literature is reviewed and discussed.
