ABSTRACT

Psoas abscess is a rare condition and its diagnosis is usually delayed and difficult. Psoas abscess secondary to urinary tract infections is a rare condition. Psoas abscess are classified as primary and secondary psoas abscess. Primary psoas abscess usually develops as the result of hematogenous spread of an infection of another source. Crohn’s disease is known to be the most frequent cause of secondary psoas abscess. In this case report, a patient presenting with lumbar pain and fever who was diagnosed as psoas abscess with contrast enhanced computerized tomography imaging and whose blood,urine and abscess cultures were positive for staphylococcus aureus will be discussed.
