Diabetes mellitus (DM) and cancer are among the most important health problems that cause significant mortality and morbidity in the world. Current data indicated that DM and cancer share same pathogenetic mechanisms and some cancers are more common in diabetic patients. Moreover, there is an evidence that some anti-diabetic agents increase risk of cancer. In this review molecular and clinical features of the relationship between DM and cancer were discussed in the light of literature.
