During the aging process of the eye, there may be age-related natural changes as well as seruous ophtalmologic disorders which could threaten vision. Age-related natural changes include presbyopia, pupil contraction and decline in the sensitivity to light, and yellowing of the lens. As age progresses, the more frequently occurring diseases of the eye are dry eye, macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and cataracts. Regular eye exams could navigate in the early diagnosis of these insidious disorders that could cause significant vision loss.
