All over the world elderly population aged 65 and over is increasing each day, and thus the assessment and care of older people is getting important. Increased life expectancy increases the importance of maintaining the functional independence and improving the quality of life of older people. In elderly, laboratory tests are usually used to monitor health problems, especially in acute illness. With aging, changes occur in many laboratory parameter. These changes may occur in the form of rise or fall of the values. The aim of this review is to mention the geriatric changes of some laboratory parameters and raise awareness on the considerations when evaluating these values.
