Facioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy (FSHD), is a progressive muscular disorder. Typical features include wasting of the facial or shoulder muscles. Progressive hearing loss and retinal vasculopathy with capillary telangiectasis and microaneurysms has been reported. It is known that the use of inhalation anesthetics and succinylcholine in muscular diseases increases the risk of malignant hyperthermia, the risk of rhabdomyolysis. In the present report we described successful anesthetic management for a patient with an FSHMD who underwent surgery for vasoproliferative tumor and macular retinopathy in the left eye.
