Lipomas are among the most common mesenchymal tumors of the body and characterized by the proliferation of mature adipocytes. However, they are quite uncommon in the oral cavity, particularly in the tongue. In this report, we present a case of classic lipoma measuring 1.5 cm in diameter located on the lateral border of the tongue, due to its rare localization with review of the literature.
