Anopthalmia and micropthalmia are rare and important congenital developmental defects of the orbit. They can be unilateral or bilateral. Anopthalmia and micropthalmia are heterogenous conditions with various etiologies such as genetic defects, environmental factors or structural factors which effect multiple organ systems Anopthalmia and micropthalmia can be isolated or can occur with other anomalies or as a part of a well-defined syndrome in chilhood. In this case report, we aimed to emphasize that all children born with congenital anopthalmias or micropthalmias require a detailed clinical examination by an experienced opthalmologist to rule out any ocular pathology, and by a paediatrician to screen for any associated systemic anomalies.
